Years back board members were voted on to the board. When their terms expired noone ran for the board so the original board member stayed on the board (announced at annual meeting).

Question...are these board members considered being voted in by the membership or are they now considered appointed by the Board?

Our bylaws state that if the board appointed a board member they can be removed by a majority vote of the board. If they were voted in by the membership (which was in 2007) a majority of unit owners would need to vote a board member off the board.

My opinion is that if they were elected into office, then your "appointed" rule would not apply.

Being a "hold-over" does not mean being "appointed" - It only means that there wasn't an election.

Hold-overs typically serve til the next election.

Maureen,
I'm not sure if you are trying to be funny or sarcastic.

Sometimes it's a glitch. Sometimes it's the habit of double clicking the mouse when only a single click is required. Sometimes it's impatience while the site is processing the post causing the poster to think the command wasn't sent, followed by the typical "let's try again" response.

I think I've had double posts myself for each of the above reasons.
