Is there a website that I can go to and find other condo associations/homeowners associations in my local area to discuss local issues?

Kenny, this is the only one of which I am aware. Perhaps if you provide your location in your posts it will help get responses so you can network with your location associations.

there is a website that provides free pages to groups like homeowners associations. We have a page on there, but the only "networking" is by locating similar associations in our zip codes and posting on their discussion boards.

you can go to www.neighborhoodlink.com and then plug in your zip code. If any neighborhoods in your area are using the pages and discussion boards, they will pop up on a list.

In Fairfax County, Va. the county website lists websites of associations under Community. Associations can ask to be listed there (which also gets you much higher up in the Google ratings). If your area does not have such a thing, perhaps you could suggest it. I know when I started a website for my association I explored all those to see what they were doing, also researched parking regulations, etc. that way.

Another thought is if your CAI chapter has a directory -- often they list other associations/websites in your area though I haven't seen it since they went to the new rule of associations not being members, only individuals. It used to be a great way of contacting other associations nearby -- you could see whether they were about the same as yours and call/email the contact person.

This sounds like a really useful service that could be provided. I wonder if Yahoo groups has any such thing?

Our county (Orange County, FL) has a Neighborhood Services Division that provides grants for neighborhoods, holds monthly workshops, etc. One of the things they do is maintain a list of all the HOAs in the county along with contacts. Maybe your county does the same? Maybe not a web site, but at least some way to network.
