One of our HOA Chief Complaining Officers (CCO's) about the HOA not enforcing the Covenants had a tree replaced in her front yard.

Several of we neighbors (including her) were chatting and she mentioned the new tree. The tree became the topic of conversation. Comments made as to why it was replaced, what it cost, what it was, etc. I said nothing. She finally turned to me and said you have said nothing. I smiled and said I noticed the new tree. She asked my opinion. I replied did you ask the BOD for permission. She said she mentioned it to the President of the BOD. I then said, you did say the tree was of the same type but not the same variety to the one we all have in our all front yards. I asked did you get permission for a different variety? She confronted me and asked what is your problem? I replied that while I personally have no issues with what you did but you are one of the biggest complainers in the neighborhood about people not following the rules and you did not follow them as per replacing the tree. She stormed away........LOL

I might correct you, she should have asked the Association for permission, not the BOD.

We have no committees. The BOD handles all.

Nature will always take care of itself, sometimes more quickly than others, but this is a perfect example of that. Give them the rope and they will eventually hang themselves.

Thanks for putting her in her place!

I confess I did join the conversation hoping for an opportunity to confront her but I did not start the conversation about the tree...LOL

John,

I once said to an obnoxious supervisor:

"Why don't you inhale my bodily fluids?"

He suspended me w/o pay.

I relaxed and went to the beach and public pools over the summer.

When questioned at my hearing prior to termination I stated:

"How can I be terminated for a statement of fact? We were in the same room and he was breathing air which had passed through my lungs and picked up some of my bodily fluids."

result:
reinstatement with full back pay - the 'board' even chuckled

I then IMMEDIATELY quit and started with my new employer.

My favorite ex-employer situation... I had worked 12 hours non-stop. We had an issue of the product overheating and failing test. The fix was just to let the product cool a bit prior to testing. However, my boss would not let us techs leave till we had "fixed" the product. Which entailed us to personally hand test every failed unit that came off the production line. Which was over 2K units!!!

I stopped to go to the bathroom and walked by the break room to see my boss and another supervisor chatting and eating. Mind you this was over 12 hours since I showed up for work. They asked me "how things are going?". So I told them "Well if there was a window in the bathroom I would have climbed out". (We were in a basement level). I walked away and continued to work for another 2 hours before they finally let us leave.

I come in the next day to face HR... I was asked if I had told the boss if had wanted to escape out the window? I said yes I did, we'd been there over 12 hours. The HR guy ended up laughing and tearing up the complaint. Finally quit that job and walked away...
