On Tuesday no mail was delivered to our building due to our driveway being repaired. The Care Center adjacent to us is paying for the repair entryway to both buildings. Later when the entire parking lot is resurfaced we will share this cost with the care center.
The above paragraph is given for background information.
When I got home from work Tuesday I had a note for our CCO that we needed to talk. She gave her phone number which she rarely shares with anyone. So I called her and she told me "we are having a conference...." After questioning I learned another board member was in her unit.
This Board member and another owner had tried to go the he Post Office about this issue, but the post office was closed. So The Board member and other owner were planning on going to the Post Office Wednesday to make arrangements for us to get our mail. (Our PM had tried to call, but the person he needed to talk to at the post office never returned his call.) Our CCO told me I should go to the post office. I told her that I was working. Then she told me that was just an excuse. I probably should have told her I would be glad to go on my day off in a few days.
Tuesday was the only day our mail was not delivered thanks to our Secretary and one of our owners.
After reading post by Walt and responses by others on this site, I am so thankful that our CCO is not like Walt.
Yes, we did know that the driveway was going to be repaired, we just did not know when the work was going to start. We could have been better prepared if we would have known exactly when the work was going to start. The care center had control of the start time.
