I am on board of directors for 344 unit condo association. I am chairman of Hurricane Preparedness committee which is new. How do I go about doing this project? One of the big condo units seems to have a walkie talkie set up at various locations for communication when power is out. I read about having leaders set up in units that people contact. If you have something set up. please let me know how you are set up to handle it. What do I need to do to make it work?

Thanks,

Contact the local Emergency Management Services near you. I once developed an emergency plan but it wasn't for hurricanes. It's always good to have a general plan just in case. Especially a list of current residents so if anyone comes up missing.
I also would consider suggesting your residents put up information for the fire department. There are stickers to post on the front door or window that let's the fire department know how many residents or animals are inside the house. That way if anyone has any pets they can be accounted for. Also ask the fire department for any other hints they may suggest.
