Does anyone have standard language they can share concerning landscaping standards? I'm drafting a document for our Association that can be used as the basis for service agreements with different landscaping contractors. If the individual contractor has their own agreements that will be fine, but at present we have not documented the Association's expectations. We spend $50,000 per year with a variety of contractors for mowing, edging, fertilizing, tree trimming, beach maintenance, etc. with nothing in writing. We prepaid $8,000 in March for fertilizing without any written agreement as to what services would be provided. I'm wondering if anyone has a document they would be willing to share that outlines the landscaping maintenance program for their Association.

Patrick,

The standards we have are in our RFP (request for proposal), that we send out at contract renewal time to obtain bids, and in the contract itself.

I've attached the scope of work section of the RFP.

hope it helps,

Tim

I'll get to the RFP Monday night. What you got (and thanks to John (PITA) for creating the pdf) was only part of the RFP.

I'll make sure to post it in pdf format (vs. MSWord).

OK. Seems the attachment worked. This is a compromise schedule worked out between us and the landscaper. As an example we had bushes being trimmed twice a year and the contractor suggested the 1/8 per visit thus overall 4 trimmings a year. We had edging every visit and we went 1/2 each visit. We also wanted cutting every 10 days but we agreed weekly was best for scheduling. Now we know what day and when.

Our landscapers are here every Tuesday from about 8:30am to about 5:30pm. A crew of about 4 with assorted machines. They put in a full, hard day.
