Can anyone tell me if there are Federal grants for home associations.

There may be something there or not. You will likely need to look under specific projects vs just looking for HOAs.

Also, check your State, County and various companies.

VA offered grant money to address various issues. However, there was a requirement of x hours donated by those receiving the money. With the apathy that is in our development, and the fact that the Board wasn't going to donate those hours in addition to what we were already donating to run the HOA, we decided not to pursue that avenue of potential income.

Well here in Southern CA the local gas company is offering to put in smart meters and it is a grant, or free program. All I know about.
