I don't believe our state (arizona) has any criteria on how often a reserve study needs to be done. What would be a good recommended time frame between studies? Our last one was done in 2008. I think we need to have a new one done and want to justify the expense. Any help would be appreciated.

I think a good rule of thumb is every 5-7 years between studies, although it should be looked at each year and adjusted for inflation and other factors.
But I'd do a search of this site for previous posts. There is a lot of info and opinions already out there. I know Tim always has good info on Reserve Studies.

I did do a search before posting. I found posts on doing it yourself, what should be included, etc. But didn't see one that recommended an interval if not required by your state. I'll go back and read through more of them though.

There may be no requirement in AZ to do a study, but unless your HOA is very bare bones, i.e., has few reserves components, three years would be a minimum interval, imo.
