Is there a website available to view all the statutes on HOA laws? My company manages foreclosed homes and one third have at least one HOA. So I was curious if anyone knew of a central location to look up the laws/statutes for HOAs in all 50 states.

Please advise. Thanks in advance to whom ever replies to this message!

All CC&R's are filed at the COUNTY Records office. You will need to know the county of which the property resides in that specific state. Each state is different on how they handle HOA's.
I will give you a good source of information. You may be able to to go your local OFFICE supply store and find some supporting forms/CD's on the subject. If you can find the rack with forms involving "Sell your own home" etc... you may find the subject your looking for. They are generic forms and can cover multiple states.

Hi Carrie:

I don't know of any such website. You would probably have to search each state's website (probably the secretary of state website for each state).

The relevant laws in Oregon can be found if you search "Oregon Revised Statutes." You'll find the relevant sections:
PUD/Single family/townhomes: ORS 94 (Planned community act sections)
Condos: ORS 100
For both: non-profit corporation act ORS 65

Do a google search: your state planned community statues. or substitute condominium for planned community if that's what you want, or just google your state statues. There should be a search box there to look for planned communities or condominiums.

One of HOATalk's sponsors, Community Associtions Network, has links to the statutes. That's your best bet: www.communityassociations.net

You can also always find a link to them on the right side of our forum pages.
