Some of the graphic-savvy among you may be familiar with infographics. They can be as simple as a chart, but I’m thinking of the more sophisticated ones I’ve seen that discuss certain topics, such as the number of women in the workplace, combining the numbers with art into something that fits on one page, is easy to read and rather colorful.

From what I’ve seen, these might be a great way of explaining various things to homeowners (I’m off the board, but still work on the newsletter), but was wondering if anyone knew if they can be created with something like Word or PowerPoint and how difficult it might be. I suppose we could get the newsletter department of our property manager to put them together, but I’d like to give it a go (or try to!) before we have to pay someone.
If you’ve ever put these together for your association, any insight you may have would be greatly appreciated!

I remember when infographics were simply called charts and presentations.

Do an internet search for infographics maker.
There are a few interesting links

Additionally, powerpoint can make charts. An internet search for making a chart in powerpoint can provide directions.

Depends on what you want to do … Excel is also another program that is good for doing charts. When I have done newsletters I generally like to use Publisher and can add graphics from Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Photoshop, etc. How easy to do … some programs are easier than others and it depends on how complex you want to make the project. There are generally online some short walk through examples for all the programs for making charts and graphics. You just need to play with each one a bit and see what you like and what might work best for what you want to accomplish. The more you know about any program the more you can do with it.
