Can you teach me this? how do you put that little blue box taking a previous post to the top of your response? I don't know how and it would be helpful to do that at times.

If your asking about qutations, which show up in a grey box on my computer, simply click quote instead of reply. You may then delete, as needed, some of the quotation to address specific things. However, be sure not to delete the http codes which are inside lessthan < and greaterthan > brackets. Also be sure that you start typing after the last set < / div > < b r > < b r > (removing spaces between the letters) or your reply will show up as part of the quotation.

If you are talking about posting links: I go to this page and utilize cutting and pasting of the code which I then replace with with the link I want to utilize. I find this faster then typing out the code.

Bolding is done by utilzing < b > at the beginning of the bolded text and < / b > at the end of the bolded text (remember to remove the spaces).

italicizing is done by replacing the b with an i

Smiley faces are the simple emoticons many of us already know. : ) with space removed =
Not all emoticons work on this site.

Feel free to practice within this thread.

How does one quote multiple replies in a new reply?
Thanks

Quote, copy, edit quote, write reply, paste, repeat

If quoting different posts in the same thread into the same answer, I right click (vs. left clicking) on quote and then choose open in new window. copy the quote and then paste it back in the original window.

Ok, some seen to work, but they hide the code, when they do work. I will try and see if I can upload and attach a pic, that shows the code. Nope, the file gets rejected. So, you can go to this address and download the pic yourself, if you want to.

No there's not, Fred. Unfortunately the behind-the-scenes software that runs this website and message forum is woefully unequipped to do many things that other message-forum sites can do. Here, once you press "Submit", the message will usually be posted. If the web is slow and your button press seems to not be working, and you press "Submit" again, then the post will be posted again. If you get frustrated and press "Submit" 6 times in a row then your post will appear 6 times eventually. There are a couple of problems going on. There's no "feedback" provided when a button is pressed; the user has no idea if his or her button press was detected or not. Multiple "Submits" will be posted multiple times.

The second problem is there's no way to edit one's post after it has been submitted. You can't delete a post, either.

Essentially this is a primitive website, Fred. Please do the best you can to "get used to it". We all have.

When I want to add on to a post I made, I hit quote and type ADD ON then what I want to add. Not the best way but it works.
