aren't names and addresses of members protected from being given out (many residents of the mobile home park are not members)

Addresses in a HOA are public. Just walk by and write down the address. There is a phone book too... However, actual ownership is a bit harder to determine when it comes to names. Even that is up for public knowledge and hard work to discover. The HOA is not really under any responsibility to provide this information. You should even be able to opt out of providing some of it.

Andrew,

Residents and Members are different. Not all members may be residents.

Typically the membership list is available to other members.

Being a mobile home park, I expect that your Association would need to comply with the Florida Mobile Home Act.

If your association is incorporated, I would expect that the Florida Not For Profit Corporation Act would also need to be complied with.

I am not familiar with the mobile home act. However, per FL 617.1602, of the corporate statute, members do have a right to the membership list.

Hope this helps,

Tim

Andrew,

I do not speak for anyone other than myself but I feel that your situation is outside the bounds of what we normally cover.

This forum focuses on Homeowner Associations and Condo Associations. In both those association types, membership is usually mandatory and is always tied to owning real estate.

Your issue involves a mobile home park where membership in the association is voluntary, the members do not hold title to any real estate, and operation of the park is beyond the control of the association or its members.

My opinion is that your situation and question does not belong on this forum.
