Can the HOA stop an owner from renting his own unit and require all rentals (short term) be through a designated rental agent? Seems like with VRBO that is an outdated requirement.

Bob,

Do you own property in Colorado?

Looking at buying and the property has in it's bylaws (from the 80s) that short-term rentals must be through the designated rental agency. Seem ridiculous that you could not rent your own unit. Those bylaws were written back when the only way to rent you own unit was with a classified ad.
