Since Colorado approved the grow and use of marijuana, I was just wondering if any other HOAs in Colorado have changed their rules that limit the use or growing of marijuana. It hasn't been an issue in our association (though I know residents that smoke it). I doubt anyone would grow it outside (only because it would be easy to steal). I haven't noticed anyone sitting on their porch and smoking. Then again, we are a pretty health conscience group of people (for the most part).
Our only issue in the past several years, one of the homeowners had a very large grow operation in his house. The house was already in forclosure by the bank. I watched the police go into his house and confiscate the plants. He had much more than we was allowed (he had a medical card and was allowed to have 6 plants; this was 2 years prior to the new state law).
As a board member, I doubt we will have an issue but if it does I was just wondering how other HOAs are dealing with it. We are all single family homes with no shared walls (just share common space).
