Our covenance must be renewed in Sep. It is the last of Aug without the many changes that has occured since 1984. Can we get an extension of a month to get our stuff tegether and submit the many changes that are needed?

That was the short answer.

Here is the longer answer:

The law does not provide any wiggle room.

712.05 states the following:

A person’s disability or lack of knowledge of any kind may not delay the commencement of or suspend the running of the 30-year period

Essentially, if you run out of time to preserve the documents it moves to the preservation phase which has much more requirements.

Also, the time frame for expiration does not start with the date of the document but the date of the root of title in which the title references the exact location of the covenants, so if your covenants were from 1984 but the first deed is from 1985, the clock starts ticking in 1985. This can be different for every property in the neighborhood.
