We are a brand new subdivision and the HOA is just getting going. We are getting the entrance landscaped and would like a nice stone or rock entry sign. Any recommendations or companies you used for yours?

I am trying to google but having a hard time.

May I suggest going the "artist" route? Go to a few art festivals or artsy side of town. We have in our town an artist section and art strolls. You may find an interesting artist there to fill your needs. Google some artist in the area.

It also may be a good project for someone in the HOA. See if someone knows or does something like this. Agood use of getting people involved too.

Get a building permit.

There may, or may not, be wind load requirements for your area.

In my area the sign would have to withstand a 130mph gust for 3 seconds.

This would be a CORPORATE built sign on a corporate/HOA asset.

This MUST be done in a code compliant manner or the directors 'COULD' face personal liability for any damages.

DO NOT START YOUR HOA BY CHEAPING OUT AND NOT DOING CONSTRUCTION PROPERLY

Think 'long term' and 'what would my insurance agent say'.

Do an internet search for entrance signs for subdivisions in TX or change TX to your specific location. A lot of links are provided.

You can come up with a design on your own or ask the companies to submit designs that meet local and County codes that are within a certain budget (don't forget to include the installation costs) and see what is provided.

Ride around and see if any particular ones interest you. Stop someboduy and get a BOD Member name/number. Call them and ask who did it. Get multi quotes.

One of my main issues is bushes, plantings, etc. that grow up so high as to obscure easy reading of the sign.
