Hi everyone,

I am wondering if other HOAs out there have a website that allows residents to log in to see account information and make payments? If so, what vendor do you use? I've been talking about this with peers within my BOD I serve with and our managers but not sure what tech is out there is buy and if it's cost effective.

No need to reply as far as vendors. After reading more threads I realize better not to ask for particular vendors.

NEW QUESTION: without vendor information, do any of you use any service like this as far as HO access to account. If so, is there perceived value for this service within your community?

Mark,

If you want information about specifics on various potential vendors, you may want to create a separate e-mail account (gmail, yahoo, etc.) specifically for this purpose and post that address so others may contact you.

I don't have any specifics about vendors in this area because we don't have such a service.

We did look at similar services from a Bank. However, the cost was more than simply hiring an independent contractor for bookkeeping duties.

Mark,

In response to your new question: When I first joined our board we had a terrible management company handling the accounting. One spot that really caused problems was that at the first of the year they would send out a statement showing the current assessment amount. They omitted showing any past due balances and this caused no end of frustration. They had no online capability so if you wanted to know your balance you had to call during business hours M-F and speak only to John as no one else in the office had even the slightest clue as to how to look anything up.

We switched to a new management company that provides online account information. I can look for myself to verify that my account is up to date and that my contact information is also current.

My only complaint with the current management company is that they want to charge $15 extra to pay by credit card. (We have argued the wisdom of this ad nauseum on this forum so I do not wish to re-visit that topic.) I pay my assessment with the bank's bill-pay service but, like any paper check, I need to verify that my payment was received and posted to the proper account.
