Ok, this is a little odd. I'm in the Baldwin Park neighborhood in Idaho. I just received an email message via our website from a woman in Baldwin Park, Florida. Apparently there is an alligator in the retention pond next to her home that she wants removed. The people at the Florida Wildlife Preserve want the OK from the HOA before they will come out. While I'm not exactly in the position to give them the OK, I thought I would see if anybody here would have any thoughts on how to get in touch with the appropriate people.

Hi Dwight:

I tried finding something online but no direct hit; there are some links to local realtors, who may be able to pass along the information.

However, it would appear that the best way to handle the situation would be to simply email back and tell them to contact the lady and ask her for the contact info for her association.

I hope that their retention pond has a good fence.

Thanks Patrick. Part of her problem seems to be that she doesn't have the contact info for her association, which is why she found me. I did a google search also, and I probably found the same links that you did. I gave her the pointer to the baldwinparkfl.com website, but the contact page there looks like it's only meant to let them harvest addresses to send sales info.

I'm sure that she will be able to get in touch with the right people for it. I just wanted to see if I could help her find them.

I never expected to have to be involved with a 'gator situation in Idaho. Bears and wolves maybe, but not 'gators.

Hi Dwight:

I'm not sure about wolves and bears, but I've had "gator tenders," tastes like chicken...

I thought Baldwin Park was a subdivision not a city. Either way, call Orange County Animal Services at (407) 254-9140.

Alligator are quite a site especially when they are out in the open. Baldwin Park, Fl is in a business, high traffic area near downtown Orlando. It is a very expensive area to live in. Anytime there is a problem with an animal, wild or not, you should contacr Animal Control Services. They will contacr an Alligator traping company to remove the gator. 9 times out of 10, the alligator will be put down because it no longer has any fears of man. All else fails, call 911. They would contact the appropiate people.
