What can members do if the inspectors of election do not answer questions, or delays answering which can be critical in election outcome. Does the board step in?

You may need to provide more information to get a more detailed answer, but I would think the board should step in. We don't have inspectors, but as I understand it, they're responsible for ensuring elections are done according to the HOA's bylaws and there's no funny business like people voting more than once, ineligible people trying to vote, etc. Why wouldn't they be willing to answer questions? And shouldn't they be reporting on what's been presented at the meeting - something like "we received X number of proxies, and Y number of ballots were cast tonight. The number of ballots match the number of homeowners who signed in, and all of those homeowners are eligible to cast a vote, etc.)

Perhaps your board needs to set some guidelines as to what the inspector is supposed to do. You could also have one or two other people to watch the watchers to make sure the processes have been followed.

As you know, betty, the duties of the inspector(s) of election are spelled out very clearly in CA's Davis-Stirling legislation. Please tell us exactly what they are failing to do?
