As I edit the Proxy we've used in the past for the upcoming amendment vote, my question is that if there are more than one items to vote on which can result in too much to "read". Can we just list the amendment # under the limited proxy choice, plus the for or against, or should we also include verbage of some kind? The ballot will have all of that stuff.
Thanks in advance!

You might check your state laws on the topic, JoK. In CA,I'm fairly certain that the verbiage must be included

I think it's best to include the verbage. However, if that's going to cause a multiple page directed proxy, then I understand your concern and you may want to do it the way your thinking. As Carol said, check the local statutes. However, I think that they only identify what is needed to make a proxy valid (date, signature, etc.) and not specifics on the exact wording of the proxy form itself.

Thanks for the help! It's been a good exercise in writing the proxy and trying to keep the wording short. I found that it was a good balance point to what we were asking for in the vote, so in the long run, the ballot itself is more concise now that I've done the proxy.
