I am a resident in an HOA in Denton, TX.

My HOA sent out a letter notifying of a regular meeting, but the date and day of the week did not correspond with the calendar, and the HOA never sent a correction, posted anything, nor answered emails through their web site regarding when the meeting truly was, what recourse does a homeowner have about being notified? Plus, the HOA does not have meetings in accordance to the bylaws of the association, how should I proceed in this matter?

The issue of the Board not having meetings in accordance to the bylaws is a bigger matter, but what are your concerns? The regular meeting date may have been a typo - has this happened before? How many times? Are you able to get minutes of those meetings? Have your neighbors had similar concerns (there's strength in numbers - all of you should go to the next meeting and express your concerns). Have you discussed any of this with a board member or two?

Well, you tried e-mails through the website. Have you contacted a Board member directly (via phone or knocking on the door)? That would be my next step.

Sheila asks some good questions and Tim gives good advice.

In addiiton, do you have a property mgr.? How often do your bylaws state that your HOA board must meet?
