David,

Here are the applicable laws from TX (that I am aware of):

BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS CODE, Title 2, Chapter 22 NONPROFIT CORPORATIONS Applicable if your Association is incorporated as a Non-Profit (most are)

Property Code, Title 7, Chapter 81 CONDOMINIUMS CREATED BEFORE ADOPTION OF UNIFORM CONDOMINIUM ACT Applicable to Condominiums created prior to January 1, 1994

Property Code, Title 7, Chapter 82 UNIFORM CONDOMINIUM ACT Applicable to Condominiums created on and after January 1, 1994

Property Code, Title 11, Chapter 209 TEXAS RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY OWNERS PROTECTION ACT

NOTE: Texas Statutes, Property Code, Title 11 deals with Restrictive Covenants. There are multiple chapters to Title 11 and it would be wise to review them to make sure that those chapters won't also apply. To review all TX statutes go to: http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/

Additional information is also available from Community Associations Network, TX page at:
http://communityassociations.net/texas-resources/

Hope this helps,

Tim
