Is a motion such as this in order under Robert's Rules?:

Move to adopt, pending a positive outcome of a test or other contrition

If it is in order, what should be done when the the positive outcome is achieved
and what should be done if a negative outcome is the result of the test or condition?

If the motion is not in order, what alternative is there to adopting something pending something else?

Thank you.

I would suggest postponing debate and voting on the motion until a later date or time when the outcome of the desired test or condition is known.

Interesting info about Roberts rules from '09.

Disclaimer: Seems to be Virginia and Florida centric.

I read your question, per Bruce's advice, and the replies at robertsrules.forumflash.com, James. Helpful to me too as I wasn't sure our Board was doing it right. We are.
