is there new Florida law that you have to have a fee schedule for your fines already made out. I am a new board member and am trying to find out all the right information. I am familiar with 720 but did not see anything in there

A keyword search of 720 (fee schedule) didn't show anything but it just makes sense to have one rather than making it up as you go.

Studies show that 5 out of 4 people have problems with fractions

Welcome to the Forum, Stephen. I cannot answer your question, but I'll bet someone else can.

My question to you is; if your HOA has no schedule of fines, how currently o homeowners know if the fines against them are unreasonable, malicious or even ridiculous?

Your familiar with 720?
You should re-read 720.305 (2)(a)(b).

Additionally, rour HOA should have documented procedures for such things, especially where it wishes to take action(s) against it's members such as enforce restrictions, rules, etc.

You must ensure reasonable, equitable, and consistent treatment for all members in such matters or [possibly] face selective enforcement accusations.

Here is a link to the statute Peter said to review:

http://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&Search_String=&URL=0700-0799/0720/Sections/0720.305.html

Although that statute specifies the maximum amount of a fine and requirements before imposing a fine, it does not specifically require a fine schedule. However, to ensure fairness of any fining, a fining schedule makes sense. By having a fining schedule a current or future Committee can't impose a $100 fine on one person and a $1 fine on another for the same violation.
