Our association receives other income from rental garages. Some of the upkeep such as garage doors and roofs are paid out of the reserve fund with is funded by the operating account. Can you write off the garage doors and roofs against the other income on the tax return even though they are paid out of reserve account?

Expenses are expenses. Therefore, I don't think it really matters what account the funds came from to pay for the repairs.
