Hi All:
We are looking to form a Community Task Force and want to know if we can access a listing of communities for our PA area. Is there such an animal for all states?

Hi Paul:

There are several ways you could get this information. The first would be to go to the website for the PA Secretary of State; go to the corporate division and find the listing of corporations; if they separate out for-profits from non-profits, your task will be easier; but it will be long. If it's searchable, you could use terms such as "condominium," "homeowners," "home owners," "homeowner's," "home owner's," "HOA," and "association." Depending on your state, "property owners," and "POA" might yield results as well.

Another way would be to contact your local chapter of CAI, to see if they would send out an email with your contact information, inviting members to contact you. http://www.cai-padelval.org/ This also might be a good organization to join, or to take advantage of educational opportunities they offer.

A third way would be to contact HOA management firms in your area, and ask that they send an email to their board members with your contact info.

Cooperation in your efforts might depend on what your Community Task Force is trying to achieve. It could be that you are looking for information that a management company could provide for a reasonable fee, saving committee volunteer efforts for some other purpose.

Best of luck!
