Our community has always counted the votes in a closed door room. I say the Florida Sunshine law reads this not right. Now the president said he will leave the door open. I still think this wrong and how can I stop this. Mainly for the elections, which is serious to me

You had an issue because the door was closed. The President says that they will leave the door open and you have an issue with that. Where and how would you like your Association to count the votes? Have you suggested that method to your Board?

I see a few options:

1) Volunteer to serve on the election committee and be one of the members counting the votes - this way you can be sure it's done correctly.

2) Request to observe the count

LaVerne - are you referring to the public government sunshine laws or 720 or 718 which govern HOAs and Condo's?
