My question relates to HOA's and their social hall seating during shows. is there a REQUIREMENT to "gang" chairs for theatre style seating if there are more than 300 in attendance. I was told that Fire codes require the ganging to foster crowd control, and prevent stampedes. Can you direct me to where I can read the code requirements? We are considering replacing 450 chairs in our clubhouse, and if there is such requirement, then the focus will be to comply.

Ask a fire chief about the code your stating. If they aren't following them, then invite the fire chief to inspect. Gets your issue addressed now doesn't it?
