Hi all,

I have been looking to connect with board members of local HOA. But, I am getting nowhere.

(1) If I talk to my friends living in HOA, they don't know how their board member is and not interested to find.
(2) If I try to find websites of HOA, the phone # listed is usually of the property manager....and a call to them goes nowhere.

How do you connect with other board member in your local area?

I am Franklin Township, NJ 08873. Anybody on this website that is close to me?

You could see if there's a local chapter of the Community Association Institute (CAI) in your area - Google the national organization's website and see what you can find.

Our property manager has a number of client HOAs and it sponsors a party for the clients every fall, so that's another way of meeting other HOA representatives (this year, they had a bar and as you can imagine it was fairly popular! Everyone behaved themselves also)

Our HOA is also a member of a local neighborhood organization for our township and some of the other HOAs are also members, so you might check with the ones in your area and go to a meeting to see who's there. Good luck!

you get the name and address of the HOA, Inc.'s 'registered agent' from the NJ Secretary of State's office. http://www.secstates.com/NJ_New_Jersey_Secretary_of_State_Corporation_Search/

You send a certified, return receipt letter to same.

Do an internet search for "Franklin Township" NJ HOA Websites

This will provide some website results of Associations.

Another option is to look at the listings of homes for sale in your area. Some of the listings will name the Association or the subdivision (which is typically part of the Associations name). With this information, you can then do a search on for the Association. Example: "subdivision name" HOA

If the Association has a website, there is typically contact information for the Board.

Hope this helps,

Tim

You want the direct contact information of directors in other HOAs? The board in my HOA doesn't provide direct contact info even for members.
