I live in a condominium that is comprised of duplexs. It is in Michigan and I'm searching for background on whether the association is responsible for foundation maintenance and repair or the co-owner. We had a builder warrrantee but the builder has gone bankrupt. Does anyone know of any statute that might cover this.

Don't look for state law, look in your documents.

Specifically, look for the definitions and descriptions of Common Elements in your documents.

Your deed should spell out what you own. If it does not, your CCR/Bylaws should. If they do not, you might just have to repair it yourself and then seek money from the other owners in court.
