Here we go again...Another satisfied customer. LOL!

In all sincerity, what do your governing documents state? I am in KS, but I believe even TX requires the financials to be made available, so also check with your SOS.

You say no financial reports of any "interest". Does this mean no financial reports of any type?

Read your documents.

You don't ASK for removal, you take steps to REQUIRE it.

(If others feel that same way as you, that is).

John,

Welcome to the forum. Is your Association under control of the membership or the developer?

Most thinking folks would require perhaps just a bit more information than that provided in this OP before they climbed onto the anti-HOA another case of Baord abuse bandwagon.

But some folks just can't help themsleves........................

Do we know what reports the OP is seeking?
As Tim asked is the property still under the control of the developer?
Does the OP know?
Has the OP read the property's documents?
Have they requested any information and been denied?

YES! No doubt another case of HOA abuse to be added to the list of abuses folks like Crazy Mike the BraveHeart of anti-HOA leadership, Amin the gutless little jelly fish who can't muster the nerve to visit his MC to view records, and other like minded limited folks who see EVIL wherever they turn..............

When the OP provides some clarification perhaps then some of us can make a judgment. Or is it now guilty till proven innocent among the zealots???

People often falsely see in others what they fail to see within themselves.

I agree JonD1. Many of these people claiming HOA Board abuses are often some of the most uninformed and downright nastiest people one could ever meet. I deal with them on a daily basis now in my community. They often throw out any slander and libel with no proof whatsoever. They lie. They threaten sometimes even physical violence. They pull every dirty trick in an attempt to weasel out of their responsibility to maintain their own property and pay their contribution for the common area property.

There is a large and growing segment of our population that have a virtually unlimited sense of entitlement. And it NOT just in HOAs. It is everywhere.

John,

As has been pointed out, we need more specifics in order to offer better advice and/or opinions.

In general, the one thing you can do is become involved in the running of your Association. If the Declarant (developer) is still in control, it may be impossible to do (as the Developer typically controls the votes). However, if the members are in control, you need to gather support from your neighbors and others and either not reelect the individuals currently serving on the Board or recall the Board. Then simply elect those who will comply with the governing documents and applicable laws to be Directors. Perhaps you can be one of those elected to replace an existing director.

Well GnomeX I am going out on a limb here and suggesting perhaps you consider picking up Life Codes the new book by Dr. Phil. He speaks to just what you have suggested. But he adds in "arrogant" entitlement as what now appears to be a common trait in our populations.

I want what I want when I want it. And the rest of you live to give it to me!

Now I had suggested this book to another but his reading list it would appear seems to be limited to just one book. And for him his learning stops there.

Yes, whenever you don't get what YOU want it must be a bad Board and faulty HOA. Yes, when the HOA requires anything of you they must be abusing their roles and power. As if the HOA flew in from Mars.

Over 26 years I have dealt with my share of problematic residents. Sort of leaves a bad taste in your mouth towards all people if you were to let it. I hold out the hope there just might be a few decent folks left who understand as adults you have responsibilities, you don't always get what you want, and that other people were not put here to serve you or do your work for you. Those are hard facts for some people to grasp these days.

I had one woman here who stopped paying her CCs. Everyone else pays just not her! One day while walking through town she was in the nail saloon having her nails done! You gotta love folks like that! And enjoy dealing with them.
