For some years there has been concern that we need to get the deed to our building. Where it is, we don't know. I have checked our county accessor's website and can not find the valuation of our building.

I am beginiing to think that there may be no deed to the building, but rather each individaul unit has a deed which combined would be the vaule of the building.

Does anyone here know if there are deeds to condominum buildings. If so we need to do a deligent search to find ours. We are a 43 unit concominium in NE.

Bonnie, call your County Recorder's Office (or whatever it is called in NE) and ask them, if anyone knows the answer to your question it would be them.

Studies show that 5 out of 4 people have problems with fractions

Bonnie,

My brother-in-law lives in an 11-unit condo complex in Phoenix where he owns one unit. I checked our county records to see how the property is deeded. In his case, there was one deed for each unit but no deed for the overall property. This would make some sort of sense since each unit owner has an undivided one-eleventh share of the common elements as set forth in the Declaration of Horizontal Regime.

That makes perfect sense to me. We have been worried about not having a deed to our buidling. This started even before I was on the Board.
Since no one person owns the buidling there couldn't be a "deed" to the building.
