I was reading a response and it dawned on me... Do we ever have any posters who have something good to say about their board and how they do things? Maybe it is time that we do have a post on what your board does do right. Do they have a good system in place someone may consider using? Do they avoid fining members and have another way to handle violations?

Let's post something GOOD and/or USEFUL our HOA's do for us...

I liked the way we had a lien policy in place for non-payers. At 6 months we would place a lien if there was no dues paid or special payment arrangements. We collected dues once a month. The 6 month time frame isn't enough time for a foreclosure by the bank to occur and doesn't make the amount owed too large for someone to catch up. It basically weeded out the non payers who were going to continue that way and those in hard times. Plus it wasn't just random/selective. 6 months you got a lien no matter what your reasons are.

Now what good thing do you have to post?

Melissa,

Although a noble effort, since most of the regular posters are currently or have served on their Boards in the past, the good the board does comes out in our responses.

As for initial posters not having something good to say, I believe that this is normal.

Individuals typically don't search the internet when they don't have a problem of some sort that requires answers. For those in associations (myself included) we only start looking when there is a conflict between the Association and ourselves. Therefore, it appears that there are only bad things to say about Associations.

I will say this.
Our board on a whole over the last 5 or so years has done some major maintenance, repaint, and upgrades to our property. It's never looked so good..
Saying that the road there was not easy, it was bumpy, a few odd board members with own agendas.. but they seem to come and go...

I would thank the board if they gave out complete financial information....but they never do...

Are they stealing?

I have heard rumors that they have credit cards issued by the HOA....but they have never admited this much less published the financial records!

Thank the board for stealing our dues payments????

Are you crazy?

Looks like Capt. Mike has gone of his meds again.

Studies show that 5 out of 4 people have problems with fractions

Here is an example of a person who gives your HOA a bad name and reputation... MikeR... He does more damage to his HOA, neighbors, and himself than anyone else could do to him. It is really sad that the only true conspiracy going on is inside Mike's mind and actions. Those who can't put a mirror to themselves, are either vampires who suck the life out of things or ghosts who killed themselves with their own actions...

Are you kidding?

My HOA ripped off a 92 year old man, took several neigbors to court to collect fines BEFORE they had even fraudulently changed the documents to allow them, allowed a 10' tall satellite dish in a board members FRONT yard (no dishes of ANY type in the CCRS) simultaneously taking another neighbor to court for his lamp post AFTER the ARC chairman warned the board he had ALREADY APPROVED IT.

When I asked a board member (lives right across the street) why they were persecuting yet another octogenarian the response was to the effect of because he is was some "New York Jew Lawyer"

I dawned on me that the HOA was the WORST thing to happen to my community since the Plague.

Nothing I have ever gotten from the Association is worth the paper it was written on. Contracts are “memory holed”, the governing documents…well see 10’ satellite dish above…the general laws of the state, resolutions, recorded instruments at the Registry of Deeds….these things mean nothing to the very few ethic-less people who have entrenched themselves in BOD positions (see fraud with our ballots above)
The newsletter is a joke, more tightly controlled than Pravda…no one in the community even knows about the above incidents..

How did Smart Money Magazine(Wall Street Journal publication) put it? “More secretive than the CIA”..

It is like the government of Cuba landed and set up camp here…at least the Cubans get free health care in exchange for having their rights flushed down the toilet.

And you want to pump your pom poms for the board.

ROFL!!!!
