Please help us with any law in Florida. Broward County, that forbids currents board members from soliciting proxies. Our present board knocks on doors and asks homeowners to just sign the proxy and they will fill it out. I find that on the unethical side. This way they, the present members can retain their positions and bar anyone else from being able to join the board. How can we stop this procedure?

In Florida can a homeowner collect proxy notes for someone who plans to run on the Board? In NY only Board Members where allowed to collect proxy cards. I do plan on taking a note from the person planning on running. I will explained that if they want they can attend the meeting and will be given their proxy back for them to vote. If they should give me their proxy and not attend then it will be for the person which I have the note from. I understand that the proxy notes I get have to be properly filled out and those homeowners need to be up to date with their HOA fees. I know we have to meet a quorum in order to have the elections. Looking forward to a reply since our elections will be next month.
