I am a homeowner in a HOA community and have only requested the approved minutes from 2012 to present and Auditors Review Report for 2012 for the past 4 months. At first I emailed our manager the request but then at one of BOD meetings I gave her a written request. She did give me one set of minutes from 2012 at the meeting and I informed her I was missing a few. She informed me she would send them to me. I know that the Auditors report we use to get mail stating that they would only mail upon request because there where over 500 homes and it would cost too much to just mail to everyone. At the last BOD meeting in April the manager again told me she would be mailing the minutes and Auditors report including the minutes approved that night. Never received. I called the Mgmt Office to speak with the owner and got a voice mail which I left the message about 3 weeks ago. I tried one more time and finally did get a person the same day I left the message to manager. I did get to speak to someone in that office and I went over the same as mentioned above. She offered to mail me the information. Still waiting. Well today I got a call from the owner who told me she was having a problem with her answering machine and had just gotten my message. I told her that I was just about to call her to complain about her staff and I went over all the details as mentioned and she has told me she would be mailing me my request. So do you think I will finally get these minutes and Auditors Report?

You should read the other post about getting a copy of meeting notes. Since the meeting notes are from April they may not be available. That is because if you have monthly meetings the previous month's notes can not be approved until the next month's meeting. The HOA board has to approve those notes. If you only meet once a month it goes to prove that it could be a month to get meeting notes.

If it was me, I'd make arrangements to go pick it up vs. having it mailed.

Yvette, With Tim, it should be effective if you go in person to get the '12 auditor's report and the '12 board open meetings.

I'm wonder. though, why these cannot be sent to you online???

In many states, but I don't know about FL, the law requires that the auditor's report be sent to homeowners. In my HOA, the fiscal year ended /12/31/12, but the report from the auditor wasn't required till by state law 4/30/13, so we received it (online for those owners who chose that option vs. US mail) recently.

I received the package of minutes and Audited Financial Report for 2012 early this morning. Melissa PL, I was a former HOA President for 3 years, Secretary and during the winter season Treasurer to fill in while our Treasurer was away. I Served as a BOD for over 14 years. I relocated to Florida over 7 years ago. I am proud to say that we did accomplished a lot for our Co-op and I received a beautiful Plaque in appreciation and recognition for my years of dedicated and devoted service to the Co-op, I lived in for over 30 years in NY. JimB4, The Managements office is in another county not close to me they could have offered to email me. John C46, I usually take my own notes at the meetings and I just want to make sure what I heard is correct. I do travel from time to time and miss the meetings. I enjoy attending BOD Meetings since we are allowed and keeping up to date with the things in our community. I sometimes come across a homeowner who may not go to the meetings and may have a question and if I can help them I will. Wouldn't want to give wrong information. I live in a beautiful new community and enjoy my walks and wouldn't want it to change. I also do enjoy reading this website and am so happy to have found it. I have a lot of time in my hands now that I am retired. Thanks so much for your input!
