There seems to be a posters who come on here who intentionally or unintentionally post information that crosses the posting rules in regards to spam/advertising. Please read the posting rules if you have any question of what your posting would fall under. If it's got a link and your telling people to "go check this out", then it's most likely in violation.
Please also be aware of posting your HOA name or contact information. We don't really need to know the name of your HOA/Condo nor any members names. It is not fair to those people to have their names or contact information posted behind their back on a forum. Would you want someone to do that to you? So substitute names for "Joe Blow" or "Mary Smith". The same goes with your developer/builder.
We do post links here that are helpful in terms of looking up documentation, laws, or legislation. Many are not aware of where they can find copies of their Articles of Incorporations or Convenants and Restrictions. That type of posting links is for informational purposes only to help guide people to the direction they may need to go in outside their own documents. Which their own documents are always the first and foremost documents one should always refer to.
Basically, if your going to post something make sure it's not to make money for anyone. Don't advertise a "new idea" and a website for someone to visit to find out more about it. That is what google is for. Be aware of what your posting if it had personal information, addresses, phone numbers, or website information. If you want someone to contact you outside of this forum then try to make a free Hotmail, yahoo, or google email account for temporary purposes. Try to protect yourself as well without putting your own information out there.
We have a good site here and many provide really good information/advise. We are NOT lawyers nor do we practice law. Lawyers most likely would never post here anyways nor offer free advice if they were here. However, many of us have been down many legal routes when dealing with our HOA's. We will gladly share that information so you can go help yourself. We just won't make you buy into anything to help you. Advice is free here. We don't like people charging for it or leading you down the wrong path. Thank you.
