The House Business & Professional Regulation Subcommittee just passed committee bill PCB BPRS 13-03 -- Homeowners' Associations -- unanimously.
It's a work in progress as Chair Debbie Mayfield said -- and we are working on further amendments. First big step in the right direction!

Don't count your chickens before they're hatched. My experience following the antics of state legislatures (and also information given to me directly by a personal friend who was a former state representative), of the hundreds of bills that wend their way through the legislature, few ever actually wind up on the governor's desk. Bills often pass this committee or that committee, but end up dying a natural death because they never get voted on by the full house or senate before the current session is over.

If the Florida Legislature works in a similar way to the Connecticut legislature what often happens is that when a bill does finally reach the full house floor it gets sent off to some committee that has nothing to do with the content of the bill and couldn't care less about it. The result is that it never comes up for debate in the committee before the committee deadline and simply dies.

Perhaps this won't happen in your case, but I've seen this happen too many times watching the progress of bills in the past. Good luck.
