My question is can I rent my home to my son who might be getting section 8 in the future. He is autistic and now lives in an apartment that is goverment run and has section 8 tenants in it?

You can rent to who ever you want because the money isn't going to the HOA. The rental contract will be between you and your tenant. You will want to verify with your HOA if they do have rental limitations and what they are.

Word of caution though...The section 8 people may NOT approve the rental agreement. Renting to your own son may be frowned upon...
