Just wanted to take a moment to wish all the HOA/Condo volunteer Board members who give of THEIR time to manage their property and the property of others ( while they sit back and do nothing) a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

And special best wishes to those of you who work each day to abuse your power, rig elections, violate state and federal laws, hold innocent people in violation of your demanding rules and regs, steal all the property's funds, abuse the elderly who live among you and most importantly drive down your own property values! Seems like the grand plan is working.

And your reward? You get to attend meetings, deal with daily issues of the property, find and hire contractors, solicit bids, deal with legal issues, absorb abuse from ignornat misinformed owners who suggest you lie and steal, hold office for years because no one else can do the job or won't step up and for all of this what is it you get???????? POWER

And to those who seem to live to complain about the smallest of issues in the hopes your situation just might be different from everyone else's.
Yes there are rules. Yes you did buy into an HOA despite the fact you didn't sign any paperwork saying so. Yes you have to pay CCs. Everyone else does. Yes the Board members do in fact own too. And they get to have a voice and say because they are not some evil group put here on Earth to abuse you alone. Yes you should consider your neighbors when you dump your trash on the front lawn. Yes your kids are cute to you but now all the neighbors feel the same way you do. Yes your dog is cute too but that doesn't mean your neighbors want to walk through his crap or hear them bark all day. Yes the cost of things goes up. Hence your CCs might increase over the years. Yes the Board in most cases was elected and your inability to vote them out suggests not everyone thinks you are the answer. Yes you can sue the Board, the property, the HOA hell you can sue yourself. But that is rarely the answer except if you are an attorney. Yes you have to obtain permission to do some things. Yes you have to read and follow ther By-Laws and Rules and Regs. No not every state has open meetings laws. (THANK YOU JESUS!) No the minutes don't need to be presented up to your standards. No the Board members don't have to repond to you by e-mail within 30 seconds of your hitting send. No the HOA attorney does no work for you. Yes the Board can make decisions without your personal seal of approval. No you can't hold your own meeting and remove the Board without following the law's requirements. And try to understand the meanings of words before you throw them out as if you understood what they meant.

Illegal: just becuase you disagree doesn't make it illegal

Unethical: not your way must be unethical

Robert's Rules of Order: not required nor used in every association

Davis-Sterling: does not apply to every state in the country

immoral, "open", transparency, ADA, Fair Housing Laws, HUD, criminal codes, violating the US Constitution.

HOAs are simply a form of property ownership. And like many things you can either participate or allow bad things to happen and live with them.
Overseeing your own home and property is NOT someone else's job. Would be easier but that's not life. So if you are lazy, remain uninformed and take the easy way out there can be a price to pay. So put on your big boy pants and either do your part or post some more whining about how HOAs have done you wrong.... Now that wil help.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I am starting my New Years out just right...Unemployed and trying to avoid falling off any "cliffs".

Happy New Years! Especially to those who didn't think we would have one after December 21st...Now go and complain about those neighbor loud parties and requesting your board do something about them!!! LOL!

Hope 2013 brings you good things.....

Hold on tight 2013 is going to be a scary ride for many people....

Sad to watch our country going down the drain and those imbeciles in Washington playing political games.

They should all be unemployed, drop their medical coverage, and take away their lifetime pension and retirement plans. That WE pay for.

Happy New Year, everyone!

So, exactly when should I start threatening people about their holiday decorations not being taken down? ;)

Thanks JonD1...I am already getting a taste of unemployment, loss of health insurance, and no more retirement money investment just in time for the Holidays and New Year! Kind of don't wish it on anybody...But it's nice that it can be provided to me for free! LOL!!! Oh wait, I am sure my taxes will rise to pay for it as well...

Laura may I say you should start walking the neighborhood tonight at one minute passed midnight and tag all the decorations with threatening letters of removal...LOL! Santa doesn't live here anymore!!! Get your Snowman off the grass!!! We will DNA all Reindeer poo and send you the bill!!! This ain't no country song where we keep our Christmas lights on ALL year long!!!

I once had to tell someone to STOP planting "plastic flowers" in their yard. Boy the complaints on that were astounding! I thought it was death memorial myself. Oh the violation letters I have had to send out...LOL! Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year, everyone!

I usually mail out the violation notices right afer the ball drops.

Noise, litter, distrubing the peace, decorations, crowds, boy you can hi them hard and collect lots of money that then goes right into MY pocket!

And if they don't pay then we put a lien on their house and take their homes so they and their kids go to live in the street.

Last year 5 families this year pushing for at least 10!

Adds to all the other money I have stolen for the last 25 years. I must be into them for $3 or $4 at least!

Better get busy.................

Jon

And you think that is tough...here in SC fireworks are legal...some will be calling all night long saying the fireworks noise from their neighbors lot is scaring their little dog who is hovering, shaking, and peeing on the rug...and what is the association going to do about it....LOL

I think I am just going to sneak out after midnight and go on their personal property and take all their decorations. I will fine them X amount a day for storage until Thanksgiving. After all, I am only on the board to finance my tropical vacation. (I wish. It surely isn't because I like reading emails from people complaining their parking spaces are not close enough to their back door. Really?)

John it sounds like you need to unplug/turn off your phone at 11:00 and then just for grins start returning missed calls at 06:00.

Studies show that 5 out of 4 people have problems with fractions

John,
There are some fireworks going off over here in my neighborhood if you'd like to take care of it!

Oh the joys of fireworks! I just loved finding the remanents floating in the pool the next day! My favorite year was when we were on a fire ban warning due to the drought and the kids across the street kept shooting them over my house! It wasn't the dogs whining and peeing on the rug that night! LOL!

Happy New Year everyone!
