Good day All--- Needing some input with regards to Private Use Buildings on Common Land.. Here is my situation :::: A follow up to my previous post about RV'S being parked, stored,or maintained on private residential lots in our Subdivision........... In an attempt to help ease the problem here with the RV situation ,one member asked at our last BOD meeting why we could not erect a building on common land to provide enclosed storage for people who did want to see a bunch of buildings popping up on the residential lots...Now mind you the building is permanent but the ability to store your rv in the building is only temporary because of the rule and the deed restrictions---( PRIOR POST)

The reaction from the BOD was swift -- that there was no way we could have private quasi warehouse for private storage on common land..... Our immediate reaction was-- Well we have PRIVATE AIRPLANE HANGARS on common land, and upon further research we have NOT been able to find anything in our documents that specifically allow for an owner to erect a hangar on common land, but yet we have 12 LARGE metal buildings that are to be used for storage of aircraft.... Upon further investigating these hangars this week - we have found many of these hangars contain an airplane- cars- RV'S - campers- large riding lawn mowers- large gas containers filled with gas- and general household items...UUMMM would you not say this is quasi warehouse storage at it's best !!!!!

So my question to you is- has anyone had any experience as to a similar situation that would allow for PRIVATE USE BUILDINGS to be built upon common land in absence of any governing document that is silent on the issue.....Any and all replies and comments suggested..And yes I am in Florida and Statute is somewhat silent on the issue per se..........Linda C

LindaC3 - an HOA does not exist in a vacuum. hoa's are subject to land use regulation by local, state, and federal government. branch out first by calling your local/borough code department official and inquire within.
