I have heard of a number of these types of websites that one can join for o/a $100/year.
One of them that I keep getting advertisements for is HOA Leader.com. Has anyone had experience(s)
with them? Is the information well founded/factual or just rhetoric... Is it/they worth
the $100 a year?

Alex,

I have never paid to use their site or any other pay for use website.

There does appear to be some good topics on the site but I also believe that this information can be obtained through free sites as well (and there are a lot of them available).

Personally, I prefer to go to the source for all of their information, which is the Federal and State laws, and read it myself. I'm no lawyer but I have gotten pretty good at deciphering the legalese of those documents. If I have questions, I tend to bring them here and a consensus is quickly gathered. If there are different interpretations, I know that the issue has problems.

Now if your business is property management, then it might be worthwhile to try that and/or other trade organizations. If your just a volunteer serving on the Board (like I am) then you have to decide on your own if you need more information than what is currently available for free. As I posted, for me, I'm doing OK using the information I'm able to access for free.

THANK YOU HOATALK and the sponsors and members of this site.

To clarify, I intended to say try the site you mentioned and other sites as well.

Depends......

If you find the info on those web sites helpful, its worth the money.
If you find the info useless, its not worth the money.

Everyone is different.

I think HOAleader.com has a trial membership - I get weekly emails from them that are free, but they're only snippets of the articles (which require a membership to read in full).

Some of the articles are quite useful, but you may want to try the trial membership to see if this is something you'd like to use. If you're a board member, perhaps the Association can pay for it - call it board member education and be sure to share the information with everyone. There may also be a way to get several memberships at a reduced rate

Trail Membership for 7 days? - I would not call this a true free trial membership. They hook all your credit card info right up front and it's up to you to try to cancel your member after 7 days (otherwise they start billing you after 7 days). That's all I need is for one more company to have my credit card number out there in cyberspace.
