Was wondering?
Seem that our board has gone over the hill,
1. our president resinged, that put the 1 vice in place, she did not like our maintance couple, so she took it upon her own to fire them, we as a groop filed a petition to call a special meeting and also a second to keep the maintance in place, that went well, got 60 % on the assc. signitures. but then the second appointed now is going around setting up his own (BOD). my question is, as we called for a special meeting to be called with in 45 days of our petition being filed does the so called president have to comply with out request for a special meeting?
PS: in our petition it did call for the total removal of the intire board and at the meeting, appointe A mew board.
and also where can I go to get the rules on running a HOA in the state of Texas ?
I have acopy ov the verons laws but that covers so much
thank you anyone that send us on the road to recovery

Most everything you need is in your by-laws and covenants. If you petitioned the board for a special meeting and had the required signatures, they are required to hold the meeting.

My suggestion: Make sure you have enough people interested in running for the new board! You may have your current board because they are the ONLY people interested in taking the job.
I see ALOT of posters who have valid reasons for taking their board out. They do ALL the work and then are left with a BIG void to fill. So I hope your willing to run for a seat!
Getting rid of your board has unseen circumstances which does include not having enough interest in anyone running it. It also runs the risk of getting a worse board. You may get a bunch of "Yes" people who don't have the budget for it.
I would see what could be done to fix the current board situation before kicking everyone off. Simply having a HOA education meeting so everyone understands their responsibilities may be a good start. You don't automatically understand how to run a HOA when you get elected. Hiring a HOA professional consultant may be a route to consider.
I hate to see you "throw the baby out for the dirty bath water". Just make sure once you get to your goal, it's the right goal to have.

And if you replace everyone a once, no one will have any idea of how to operate the association, who the contractors are, what bills need to be paid, what property is owned by the association, etc. This is why terms of office are usually staggered.

It's hard to believe that every director is corrupt, power hungry, etc.
