If a Board President is asked to present an OVERVIEW for the past year, what would be recommendations to be included and/or any particular
way that it could be presented... both written and verbally. Any examples?

Alex,

I recommend staying away from controversial subjects and staying with the facts.

Emphasize positive things and be effusive with praise for volunteers who contributed.

A list you may want to consider:

ยท Financial results (P&L, change in equity, percentage of successful collections, etc.)
ยท Repairs/ Improvements (things painted or replaced, new things purchased)
ยท Events (parties, pool opening, tennis tournament, etc.)
ยท New neighbors in the Community

Alex,

In order to save time, I started providing a written list of Board accomplishments (overview) at the annual meeting for my President's report.

I've attached my reports for the last two years for your consideration.

As others have said, mention the negative but place emphasis on the positive. Numbers can be stated many different ways. Example: We have a 10% delinquency rate or The Association has 90+% of on time assessment payments. Another example is use the actual numbers We only have 10 members who have not paid on time.

Hope this helps,

Tim
