Can anyone point me to where I can find what the pay scale is for various HOA jobs within Southern Florida? In particular, it was suggested we find what the going pay is for HOA Managers, Asst. Managers, accounts, office staff and maintenance staff. Several members of our finance committee feel our employees are overpaid and suggest we not give pay raises this year as well as cutting medical coverage from 80/20 to 70/30. Thanks. Den

First, you must insure minimum wage federal and state wage requirements are being met. Beyond that, is there an employee contract that determines wage requirements and/or benefits such as medical coverage? If so, then you are bound by that contract.

Keep in mind that if you decide not to give pay increases or to cut employee benefits, can you afford the potential loss of employees? What will it cost to hire and train replacement employees?

Keep in mind there are other factors to the equation other than the merely the cost of wages and benefits.
