Are there any set distances that a doggie waste station(with lids)can be placed away from a condo
unit? We have had no problems in the past... One station (which is ovser 250 feet from a unit) has drawn
complaints from one new owner... he wants it pulled up and set some place else. It has been there for at least 4 years
and,in reality, poses no prolem as far as smell... there is no smell as it has a lid to it. For some reason, the new owner
just wants it moved farther away. We, as a Board, do not want to do it as it has posed absolutely no problems
in the past and the new owner bought his place"as is" and if he did notwant a doggie station there, he should have
bought a differnt condo unit. Does anyone know of any prescribed distances that these stations MUST be or SHOULD be placed from
a condo unit?

No distance I know of. I would NOT move it. Majority rules in a HOA and this is common property. No reason to appease every squeky wheel. They will find something else to squeek about once you let one squeek through.

I may propose they pay for it and then give them permission to where to move it. That may back them down a bit. We had 2 dumpsters on each side of the neighborhood. We did NOT move them if any nearby owners complained. They are in plain site when they bought. The HOA is NOT responsible for sales of units. Just to make sure they attract buyers.

No, i do not. And, since you are so very close to Missouri (the Show-me state), I think the board should listen very attentively to the man's complaint, and then, very politely, say the following:

"You bring up an interesting issue to the board, Mr. X. At this time, none of us are aware of any code, regulation or practice that the placement of that station is violating, and so, in the interest of not wastefully spending everyone's money to remove and relocate the unit needlessly, at this time we will respectfully decline. However, if you, Mr. X, do find said ordinance, practice, rule or regulation, please bring it to our attention, and we will be happy to re-open the matter with those new facts in hand. "

250 feet is almost 100 yards. Many old folks living in these associations (myself included) cannot see...never mind smell...that far.....LOL

Acknowledge the letter, then treat it with benign neglect.
