Okay, previously I asked about the BOD introducing "special assessments". I followed the directions outlined and the BOD has decided to rescind their vote for a special assessment to contract with one garbage hauler. Now, the BOD is going to sign a contract with a single garbage hauler (that will cost 40 out of the 42 homeowners I have spoken with more money)and sign the contract with this company the end of this month. In March the BOD is going to have a "special budget meeting" to "add a utility expense" to the previous budget.

Our BOD has a history of setting up expensive contracts for bad service, they are very secretive and act like bullies. If they were honest and actually saving us money I would support this, however they aren't so I am not.

I can't find anything in the the Florida statute or our covenants that discusses adding a utility expense. I believe they consulted with the attorney about this so they probably can. However, can they sign a contract before the budget meeting?

Thanks,

Erika
