Let us help/teach each other how to better use the forum.

1. Change font. Face, color, embolden, etc.

2. Embed a link in a post.

3. Add photos.

Thanks

John,

The first two items are done with HTML tags. You can use the "b" tag for bold, and the "i" tag for italics. The "font" tag is used for other font and character attributes and the "a" tag is used for links. You can Google HTML TAG FONT or HTML TAG LINK to see examples of usage for each. Although there is a more up-to-date way of setting a font than the "font" tag, this older method still works here.

You may also want to set off a quotation using the "blockquote" tag.

Adding photos or other documents is simply a matter of using the "Message Attachments" buttons just below the text box that you use to type your post.

Here's an example of the use of the "font" tag to change the color and size of the text.

These are the 4 html tags I see used most often:

To create a link to the homepage of HOATalk, do this:

HOATalk

Note where there are spaces, where there are no spaces, and the quotation marks around the URL.

To make words or phrases bold:

bold

To make words or phrases italic:

italic

To show a quote like this:
To get something done a committee should consist of no more than three people, two of whom are absent. ~Robert Copeland

To get something done a committee should consist of no more than three people, two of whom are absent. ~Robert Copeland

Start with the opening tags <> and finish with the closing tags .

Apologies in advance if this comes out a bunch of mush.

I have never seen a pic posted. When I tried the attachment method, it said file (.jpg) to large when I was well below the size they said.

Can we attach pics?

Thanks

Try putting the pics in a word document and then attach that document
