Hi, I need to cut all but one of these articles from our newsletter, which one do you all think is the most important (the one I should keep)?

F.A.Q. (frequently asked questions); puts some common questions to rest

Expenditure Justification; explains why certain purchases were necessary for the community

Home Maintenance; guide to easy repairs so homeowners don’t have to needlessly call the maintenance department

Courtesy Corner; covers issues not in the CC&Rs, but help neighbors to get along better

Tips for Renting; informs owners how to pick responsible renters to avoid problems down the road

Thanks

Leticia,

Welcome to the forum.

Not having a clue as to what issues are important in your Association, I really can't offer advice on what story to cut.

Why not just write a couple more stories and expand the newsletter?

Put in priority order and eliminate the least.

I would skip the renters story. The HOA isn't in the rental business nor do they control renters. That's an owner's responsibility and between them and their mortgage company. Cut down on the FAQ or make them a special feature occassionally. The other topics seem to be meeting related issues.

I wanted to add before my computer messed up and posted...Decide the focus of your newsletter. Is it to educate owners on general house ownership issues or give information on who can't attend meetings? That may help thin down your newsletter. I would also include covering maybe a CC&R rule and explaining it each newsletter. This way you spark people's interest in reading their CC&R's and educate the meaning or the HOA's translation of that rule. A little added HOA education goes a long way...
