The BOD hired a "consultant" who had resigned from the BOD as president. Does not have a CAM license, come to find out, hasn't consulted some of us in 6mths that she has been in this position. She has changed passwords on pc, which she does not want some of the BOD to have access to, cause one BOD request financial info. So since she has been doing this, I as president can fire her w/o a BOD meeting, correct? And come to find out while she was president she was paying herself from the HOA account!

Once again, Annie, I & others have advised you on other threads to read your governing documents, probably your bylaws in this case. In our HOA and generally speaking, Board presidents have no authority to fire or hire anyone. Usually only the board acting together--via their votes-- at a meeting has that power.

Annie,

No, it is not likely that you, acting alone, have the authority to hire or fire anyone. Most likely it will require a board vote.
