Tom,

I don't have any specific recommendations for individuals.

Is this for you personally or the Association?

Just as Doctors have specialties, attorneys do also. Therefore, an attorney that specializes in "Associations" might not always be the best attorney to have. For example:

Problems with CC&Rs - you might want to seek out someone versed in contract law (as the CC&Rs are a contract between all the owners).

Problems with elections - you might want to seek on someone versed in corporate law.

Problems with easements - you might want to seek out someone versed in property law.

Problems with collecting assessments - you might want to seek out someone versed in debt collection.

As a final note, it's typically best to resolve issues at the lowest level possible. Legal challenges costs time, energy and money. They typically only guarantee adding stress into your life as predicting the verdict or ruling is usually a 50/50 chance.

If you care to share specifics (keeping names, etc private), other options might be able to be provided.

You might try contacting the Connecticut chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) for suggestions. You can look them up on the internet.

Thanks Tim. Nothing specific now just someone we can rely on when needed and knows condo law. We are pretty unhappy with the firm we have been using.
